Title:           Improving the Transfer Process
Date:          Tuesday October 25, 2011
Time:          11:30am (ET)
Length:      Approximately 70 minutes
Presenter:  Camille McCarthy, Implementation Manager
Depending on the number of institutions, state systems can serve anywhere from thousands to hundreds of thousands of undergraduate students, including a growing number of transfer students.  Focusing attention on the needs of these transfer students and how institutions can effectively serve them is becoming central to state systems.
The volume and potential complexity of academic credit transfer requests and administrative tasks that accompany such requests can prove to be costly and onerous for higher education institutions. To eliminate barriers to degree completion so that students can avoid additional expenses and delays are key to states; especially in these economic times.
State systems understand that a coordinated, web-based, system-wide solution is essential to support transfer students by helping them create seamless pathways from secondary to postsecondary education. This type of transfer articulation solution also supports the state’s goals to increase successful degree completion, which strengthens workforce development.
Join us for this educational webinar as we explore how states and their institutions can:
-       Map courses at other institutions to their own courses, record courses in the database as equivalencies, and provide updates.
-       Provide a summary of transfer information. Institutions can promote their programs and services.
-       Use a web portal to allow students to evaluate how prior coursework will transfer among and between higher education institutions.

We look forward to your attendance.
