Decision Academic allows administrators to document and manage transfer credits. This is combined with the ability to publish this information on the institution's web site, simplifying the transfer credit search and application process for Students.
A student's academic studies may span across several institutions and many degrees and academic endeavors. It may be that a requirement (English 101) has previously been taken by the student in pursuit of another degree at another institution. Or the student may simply wish to achieve a particular requirement at a time when the student is away from the institution. Students require a quick, easy-to-use application which will help them identify potential transfer credits and seek institutional approval for granting them.
Institutional administrators are experiencing
an increasing number of students that have and
expect to receive credit for courses taken at other
institutions. Further, recent legislation requires
institutions to grant these credits for equivalent
courses.
Maintaining a database of course equivalents and
making them available for students is daunting.
As well, maintaining the processes and history
associated with the granting of transfer credits
to students is time consuming and prone to error
when manual systems are in use.
